Bijan Robinson has Barry Sanders potential

Bijan is “reminiscent of the great Barry Sanders” , says former Falcons QB Dave Archer

The Atlanta Falcons dynamic rookie running back followed up an electric Week 1 performance, where he posted 56 yards on 10 rushing attempts along with catching six passes for 27 yards and scoring a touchdown, by rushing for 124 yards on 19 carries, catching four passes for 48 yards, and tallying 172 all-purpose yards.

Through two weeks Robinson has been as advertised, and former Falcons quarterback and now Falcons Radio Network Analyst, Dave Archer, believes Atlanta’s eighth overall pick has some Barry Sanders in him.

“There are some Barry Sanders-esk things he’s doing," Archer said. "I don’t know if it’s just his ankles, his knees, his hips, everything he does he’s able to stop on a dime to do it all, and he certainly is reminiscent of the great Barry Sanders and if he can get anywhere near that stratosphere man Atlanta is really gonna love what they’ve got.”

Archer continued his reasoning. “He’s a dynamic kid that can do it all, catch the ball out of the back field, probably a better receiver if we’re gonna compare him to Barry Sanders. I don’t remember Barry splitting out and lining up outside the numbers and running slant routes against corners for first downs, but that’s what we saw Bijan Robinson do yesterday, so he’s got it all.”

Robinson isn’t Barry after two games of course, but at this point I don’t think it’s crazy to think he’s got that potential if he stays healthy.
