The Braves made a surprising decision on Monday by sending Michael Soroka back down to Triple-A Gwinnett. Soroka last pitched Sunday, giving up seven hits and five earned runs in just 3 2/3 innings pitched vs the Arizona Diamondbacks.
After rehabbing his way back from two Achilles injuries, Soroka made just two starts for the Braves before being sent back down while sporting an 8.38 ERA over that span.
The exact reason for the demotion has yet to be announced.
