Atlanta Falcons beat writer D. Orlando Ledbetter joined Dukes & Bell to help the guys preview the Falcons-Patriots game tomorrow night at Mercedes Benz Stadium. D. also talked where do the Falcons stand after nine games into the Arthur Smith regime?
When asked if he liked the direction the team is moving this season.
“The thing that I like is it’s a veteran coaching staff so they know exactly where they’re at, they know exactly what talent they have, they know exactly what they want them to do and they’re trying like to heck to teach them how to do it the right way,” says Ledbetter. “Some people are going to grow from this and be contributors down the road, that’s the big plan but there’s going to be some people here, veterans that are just showing these guys how to be pros.”
Ledbetter talked about how the regime is laying a foundation for the future.
“Duron Harmon probably at the end, Erik Harris is at the end, you got guys like that here are just trying to help them lay the foundation for a winning football program that’s gonna go out every Sunday and be competitive. They are just trying to be competitive right now, they wanna be more than that in the future.”
