Before Tuesday’s trade deadline and before their matchup with the Atlanta Falcons in Berlin, Germany on Sunday the Indianapolis Colts traded for All-Pro cornerback Sauce Gardner, and earlier today The Morning Shift explained why the Falcons should target the newest member of the Colts’ secondary on Sunday instead of trying to avoid him.

“If I was Michael Penix I would target Sauce Gardner on third down. He doesn’t understand the scheme, and he’s very grabby, very grabby, and I would just gamble on the fact that maybe we can go get a PI (pass interference).” Mike Johnson said

Beau Morgan added that Penix Jr. should especially target the former Jet when he’s matched up against Drake London.

“Put your best 50-50 guy up against him, and you know what, I don't care if it’s a jump ball, throw it up and make Sauce Gardner stop it.” Beau said

Sauce Gardner is a very good cornerback, but after being traded on Tuesday, traveling to Indianapolis to join his new team, and then traveling with his new team to Berlin there won’t be much time for him to become familiar with their scheme, and the Falcons should do everything they can to exploit that and use it to their advantage.
