The Bucks-Hawks Eastern Conference Finals appeared to have taken an unfortunate turn during Tuesday’s Game 4.
Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo left the game in the middle of the third quarter and has since been ruled out of the remainder of the game with a hyperextended left knee, the team announced.
Antetokounmpo was helped off the court by his brother, Thanasis, before finally walking under his own power, although still with a significant limp.
Antetokounmpo was attempting to block a shot when he landed awkwardly on his left leg, which bent backward as he fell to the ground.
It is unclear how much more time Antetokounmpo could potentially miss.
The Bucks and Hawks were already playing Game 4 without Atlanta’s star point guard, Trae Young, who has a right foot bruise after stepping of the foot of a referee in Game 3. He is hopeful to play in Game 5.
Antetokounmpo had 14 points, eight rebounds and three assists at the time of his injury, although Milwaukee trailed Atlanta by 10.
