The Atlanta Hawks put the league on notice when they beat the beloved New York Knicks in five games in the first round. Trae Young has put the league on notice about who he is as a player in this playoff run.
The supporting cast, however, has really shed some light on who actually built this roster. Travis Schlenk was charged with tearing down this roster back in 2017. Now, he is looking at one of the most exciting young teams in the NBA. Sam Mitchell, of NBATV, joined the Jon Chuckery show to talk about the construction of this roster. “I thought the roster he put together in this offseason was very deep, and very good” Mitchell said.
A lot of the attention has gone to interim head coach Nate McMillan, but the spotlight needs to be shed on Schlenk because he has done a masterful job of surrounding his budding superstar with enough talent to compete in the postseason.
