Ian Anderson was spectacular in his third rehab start for Triple-A Gwinnett on Tuesday. He pitched 4 1/3 innings of shutout ball, allowing just four hits, one walk while striking out six.
Anderson, who's been battling shoulder inflammation, is likely to pitch another rehab start before manager Brian Snitker has to make a decision on his starting rotation. With Huascar Ynoa and Touki Toussaint both pitching well, the Braves haven't had to rush Anderson back.
However, the big question is how will Snitker handle the rotation once Anderson rejoins to the big club? Bally Sports Network Braves reporter, Paul Byrd, joined the Midday Show to discuss the decision ahead for the Atlanta manager.
"That's going to be up to him, and I don't know," Byrd told Andy and Randy.
"I think when somebody comes into the rotation and pitches really well, and then you say 'hey, back to the bullpen.' That's tough. If you do that with Touki or you do that with Ynoa, I think that's tough because Ynoa has been lights out. He's already playoff tested, and I would love to see him in the playoffs because his stuff is so good.
"Snit's got a tough job on his hands. I could see them going to a six-man rotation because it makes everybody else get an extra day and you could use that in September...my whole point is it's a great problem to have, and it'll be interesting to see how he plays it."
