We have received the following information from the Cobb County Police Department. A source had informed Audacy Atlanta that they potentially had an armed person on the campus of Kennesaw State University.
Update on today’s shooting.
According to the Cobb County Police Department:
Shortly after 3:30 p.m. Cobb County 911 Call Center received a call of a person shot at an apartment at Town Crossing Apartments. Cobb County Police officers responded and located one male at the scene who had been shot. Unfortunately, he did not survive his injuries.
Officers began searching the immediate area, to include portions of Kennesaw State University’s campus. The school was alerted that we were searching for a possibly armed suspect, and they activated their own lockdown notification for students and staff.
At this time there is a suspect in custody, and the campus is no longer on lockdown. School officials have given the all clear.
