The top prospect for the Atlanta Braves, Vaughn Grissom, was called up on Wednesday to replace the injured Orlando Arcia at second base and was immediately inserted into the starting lineup.

Grissom got off to a slow start in his first two at-bats, a fielders choice and a swinging strikeout, but the third time was the charm for Grissom.

Grissom clubbed a 94 MPH fastball 412 feet over the Green Monster becoming the first Braves player to homer in his debut since Austin Riley did so in 2019.

Grissom also did something in his first game that had never been done before in modern MLB history.

The Braves beat the Red Sox 8-4 and swept the short two-game series. Atlanta has an off day on Thursday before opening a four-game set with the Marlins on Friday.
