Falcons look to re-establish their run defense against Bucs
It's Week 8 in the NFL for the Atlanta Falcons. That means a divisional showdown with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, who enter the matchup, as the only NFC south team yet to suffer a loss in the division and are coming off a 43-13 win over the Carolina Panthers in which Bucky Irving rushed for 106 yards and two touchdowns.
“They have a really good back, so obviously slowing him down,” Falcons’ defensive lineman, Gervon Dexter Sr. said as he joined 92-9 The Game’s Mike Bell and Abe Gordon and explained why the Atlanta defense containing Irving will have to be a priority in order to limit the success of the Tamp Bay offense.
“The last two or three weeks, we’ve been playing against some really good backs so try to limit them, making them pass the ball and getting after them, get some tackles for loss and get them behind the sticks,” Dexter said of how the Falcons must approach defending the Bucs on Sunday.Falcons defense up for challenge of limiting Bucs ground game
