Former Patriot Akiem Hicks may have created the GIF of the year in Week 1

There weren't too many positive takeaways from teams in the NFC North this week, save for a few good performances from players including David Montgomery, D'Andre Swift and Adam Thielen. All four teams lost. The total point differential of the division is -66. Each team ranked in the bottom 12 for Pro Football Focus's Week 1 team grades, with the Bears getting the lowest score of the bunch at 54.7.

However, the Bears also may have provided us with the most positive takeaway from the NFC North's opening week of the season. And it wasn't one that had anything to do with game performance, or player/team statistics, or coaching... in fact, it didn't have all that much to do with football at all.

What the Bears gave us in Week 1 was Akiem Hicks and a GIF that could soon become one of the most popular animated clips on social media throughout the 2021 NFL season. In fact, we already saw it proliferate as a number of Twitter accounts used it as soon as it surfaced.

Imagine you're an offensive lineman... and that's what you're looking at right before the snap. I don't know about you, but faking an injury and getting a play off when Hicks looks possessed like that might not be the worst idea in the world.

The 2018 Pro Bowler finished with half a sack, two QB hits and three combined tackles in Week 1, and he'll look for stronger efforts down the road after a matchup to forget.
