The explosive lawsuit by 25-year-old Alexandra Davis was filed last week in a Texas court, and claims that Jones has paid the woman and her mother, Cynthia Davis, in exchange for their silence since her birth in 1996 out of wedlock.

Jones has been married to his wife, Eugenia, since 1963, while Cynthia Davis' marriage to her former husband was dissolved shortly after the birth of Alexandra, according to court documents submitted as part of the new lawsuit.

The Davises previously appeared in the third season of the Dallas/Fort Worth-based reality show "Big Rich Texas," with their representatives claiming at the time that they lived on a "trust fund," the Dallas Morning News reported.

If Davis wins the case, should could be entitled to a share of Jones' vast business empire, which includes oil holdings and, of course, the Cowboys, widely estimated to be the most valuable NFL franchise.

The salacious court filings touched off a deluge of outlandish responses on social media, where users weighed in with a range of jokes, many referencing the infamous 1990s daytime talk show hosted by Maury Povich, where paternity cases were a frequent topic.
