(WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- A new survey of adults suggests they believe the number-one health problem for kids in Chicago is stress.
"I think we are seeing adults becoming more aware of the kinds of pressures that young people are under and how this translates into stress for a lot of them,” says Marie Heffernan, one of the leaders of the survey team for Lurie Children's Hospital.
Last year -- the first year of the survey -- adults ranked stress as the No. 4 problem for kids. This year it was No. 1.
Heffernan said this year, more adults than last year considered smoking and tobacco a big problem for young people.
Other concerns in this survey: drug abuse, depression and childhood obesity.
