    Eric Bushman

Eric Bushman is a four-time Edward R. Murrow Award-winning broadcast journalist whose career spans from a rural Kansas town to the fourth-largest media market in the United States.

Eric started his radio news career while still a junior in high school at Ottawa, Kansas radio station KOFO, and quickly moved up to the Kansas City market at the age of 19.

While working in Kansas City at Audacy-owned KMBZ, Eric led the station's reporting of the 2008 political conventions. He was present for the acceptance speeches for both Barack Obama and John McCain. His work in the eight years he spent working in Kansas City was recognized several times by the Kansas Association of Broadcasters and the Missouri Broadcasters Association.

In 2012, Eric moved from his home state of Kansas to his dream of working in the Dallas-Fort Worth market. Eric is at home in Dallas, being one of the nation's leading experts on the assassination of President John F. Kennedy.

Eric spent 12 years at WBAP, where his work was recognized several times by the Radio Television Digital News Association, Texas Association of Broadcasters, and the Headliners Foundation. He has four Edward R. Murrow Awards for coverage of the 50th anniversary of the Kennedy Assassination, the Dallas Ebola Scare, his breaking news coverage of the July 7th, 2016 ambush on the Dallas Police Department, and breaking news coverage of the January 6th, 2021 attack on the U.S. Capitol.

In 2025, Eric joined the KRLD news team as a Multimedia Journalist. He wears many hats, from reporting, editing, anchoring, and hosting. He also provides content for KRLD.com and the Texas State Networks.

Eric is a huge fan of the Kansas City Chiefs and the University of Kansas Jayhawks. He considers himself the biggest Chiefs fan living in Patrick Mahomes' home state.
