Evanston gun violence: 2 men wounded in separate incidents, day after another shooting
EVANSTON (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - Two men were wounded in separate shootings Tuesday in Evanston, making it three shootings in that suburb in less than 24 hours.
The first shooting Tuesday was around 3 p.m. near Dempster and Dewey, where Evanston Police said they found a man had been shot somewhere on his body.
A half an hour later, officers found a man near Church and Dodge had been shot in the hand.
Police Commander Ryan Glew told CBS News Chicago the shootings do not appear to be related.
"Having two instances of violence that close together, geographically especially, in this neighborhood is very uncommon," Glew said.
Monday night at about 8:30 p.m. two men were wounded in a shooting near that same area of Dempster and Dewey.
Glew said their early investigation indicates the gunmen knew their victims. No one is in custody.
