Charges expected over murder of 30-year-old woman on South Side
CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) — Charges are expected to be filed against a man for the murder of a 30-year-old woman in the Greater Grand Crossing neighborhood on Monday.
Sierra Jamison was strangled, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office.
Jamison's mother found her body in the garage of a home she was renting near 78th Street and Indiana Avenue.
Family members told police who they suspected was responsible. Sadina Jamison, a relative, spoke to CBS 2.
"This is someone she was comfortable around," she said. "This is someone she trusted so she had no reason to fear."
Sierra Jamison was the mother of a 6-year-old boy with autism. She worked as a phlebotomist and was about to start nursing school. She was recently interviewed for a TV story after surviving an armed carjacking.
