Video: Coyote captured after roaming Lincoln Park

Chicago Animal Control officers have taken a coyote off the streets of Lincoln Park.

The coyote appeared docile in a video of the capture by Chicago Animal Care and Control. The video, taken by a woman named Beth Heller and supplied to CBS 2 Chicago, shows the officer leading the coyote by trapline pole for a short time before giving into some full on cuddles. Eventually, the officer picked up the coyote and carried the animal toward the CACC vehicle.

Heller told CBS that she didn't think anyone has been surprised over the past few weeks to see the coyote in the area, but that there was some concern for other animals and children once the coyote was spotted roaming across the street from the Latin School of Chicago and North Avenue.

Chicago Animal Care and Control has not released further details on the coyote's fate.

But in January, the department partnered with the Lincoln Park Zoo to develop an urban wildlife coexistence plan, which can be found on the CACC's website.
