14-year-old girl among 3 shot on South Side beach, police say
CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - Chicago police are investigating a shooting at a South Side beach Monday night.
Three people were injured in the shooting, including a 14-year-old girl, who police said, was shot in the leg.
Officers responded around 10 p.m. last night to 63rd Street Beach. They said a 30-year-old man was shot in the leg and a 31-year-old man was shot in the back.
All victims were taken to the hospital in fair condition.
Police said their preliminary investigation suggests that a male suspect fled the scene on a bike after the shooting.
This Father's Day weekend ended with at least 72 people hit by gunfire from Friday through Monday, according to police, eight of them died.
