CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - A shooting on the edge of Chicago's Lincoln Park early this morning sent a man to the hospital.
Chicago Police said a man in his 20s was walking near North and Astor in the Gold Coast a little before 1 a.m. when someone opened fire.
Early reports did not specify where the shooting came from. The victim was hit in the thigh and backside and was taken to the hospital in critical condition.
Police are looking for the gunman.
This area doesn't see many shootings. Through last weekend, department statistics show there have been eight so far this year, a 60 percent jump over this time last year.
