GARY, IN (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - Dozens of people Tuesday fanned out where I-65 meets 80-94 in Gary, searching for a woman who’s crashed car was found nearby.
Her family has not heard from 23-year-old Ariana Taylor since Saturday night when she was going out with friends. Her crashed car was found empty on Sunday, well off the road.
Nyanna Rias was among those searching.
“Just looking in these wooded areas, it’s kind of hard because it’s so much to cover and only so many people are out here,” Rias told CBS 2.
Aside from the volunteers helping with the search, police have used a K-9, a helicopter and divers.
It’s a mystery not unlike the recent case in Lake County, Illinois when a man walked away from a crash and was later found dead.
Taylor’s family believes there’s foul play. Her mother said she had been getting tainting text messages.
She’s black, 200 pounds and was wearing a red sweater and ripped jeans.
