Bears acquire defensive end Joe Tryon-Shoyinka from Browns

(670 The Score) The Bears added to their defensive line Tuesday by acquiring defensive end Joe Tyron-Shoyinka in a trade with the Browns.

The Bears traded a sixth-round pick to the Browns and get a seventh-round pick back in the deal. The team made the deal official just following the NFL's 3 p.m. CT trade deadline.

Tyron-Shoyinka, 26, has played 74 games over five NFL seasons. He has no sacks in eight games this season. He signed a one-year deal with Cleveland this past offseason following four years with Tampa Bay.

A first-round pick of the Buccaneers in 2021, Tyron-Shoyinka has 15 career sacks, all coming for Tampa Bay. His career-best mark was five sacks in 2023.

The Bears struck the deal about three hours prior to the trade deadline. In a win against the Bengals on Sunday, the Bears lost defensive end Dayo Odeyingbo to a season-ending Achilles injury.

The Bears placed Odeyingbo on injured reserve, clearing a roster spot for Tryon-Shoyinka. The team placed center Ricky Stromberg on injured reserve and signed offensive lineman Kyle Hergel to the practice squad.

The Bears (5-3) will host the Giants (2-7) on Sunday at Soldier Field.
