Bears designate cornerback Kyler Gordon, offensive tackle Braxton Jones for returns from injured reserve

LAKE FOREST, Ill. (670 The Score) The Bears on Tuesday designated cornerback Kyler Gordon and offensive tackle Braxton Jones for returns from injured reserve.

Gordon and Jones will be permitted to rejoin the Bears in practice as the team prepares to play the rival Packers on Saturday in the wild-card round. They each have a 21-day window to be activated from injured reserve.

Gordon has endured an injury-plagued season in which he has played just three games while dealing with multiple setbacks. His latest ailment came prior to kickoff of Chicago's game at Green Bay on Dec. 7 as he injured his groin during pregame warmups.

Making injury matters more concerning for the Bears is that Gordon's replacement, defensive back C.J. Gardner-Johnson, is in the concussion protocol.

Jones hasn't played since October, when he suffered a knee injury during practice. A three-year starter, Jones was pushed out of his job at left tackle in September and took on a reserve role. The Bears initially turned to Theo Benedet as their starting left tackle, then ultimately gave the job to rookie Ozzy Trapilo.

Trapilo missed the Bears' loss to the Lions on Sunday in their regular-season finale due to a quad injury. Benedet started in his place.

The Bears will issue a full injury report later Tuesday. The Bears and Packers will kick off at 7 p.m. Saturday at Soldier Field.
