Source: Bears to sign defensive back Cam Lewis on a 2-year deal

(104.3 The Score) The Bears will sign veteran defensive back Cameron Lewis on a two-year deal, a source said Tuesday afternoon. Details of the salary weren't immediately known.

Lewis, 28, is a six-year veteran with 76 NFL games under his belt for the Buffalo Bills previously, including 10 starts over the last two seasons. Lewis has primarily been a reserve defensive back while also filling a role on special teams. Lewis has played both cornerback and safety.

The Bears' deal with Lewis came shortly after Pro Bowl cornerback Nahshon Wright left Chicago by reaching a one-year deal with the New York Jets. It's unclear whether the Bears envision Lewis being in the mix to start or filling a reserve role.

The Bears can officially sign Lewis on Wednesday at 3 p.m. CT, when the new league year begins.
