Hometown: Auburn, NY.
Now Lives In: Penfield.
Birthday: August 31.
Family: It seems odd to say this but Bood and I are now "Empty Nesters"! Mark lives in East Rochester and Marley in Chicago and both are very happy in their chosen careers. So life gets quieter for us, well this is me you are talking about so it's not exactly quiet!! It's strange to think that when I was hired at 92.5 (WMJQ at the time) I was newly married, living in an apartment and so honored to be part of the Rochester Radio community. So much has changed, 2 kids, 2 houses, 3 dogs, 4 cats, 3 hamsters and 1 sweet above ground pool! However, one thing remains steadfast to this day, I am today even more honored to be a part of this community, Radio and at large.
Things I love about my job: I love The Rochester Broadway Theatre League' yearly schedules, Geva's amazing productions, music of all kinds, baseball (Go YANKEES!! and Rochester Red Wings!!) my book club, water walking in my yard and at the Eastside YMCA, visiting the staff and residents of Lollypop Farm and The Ronald McDonald Houses! I LOVE a good garage sale and then telling everyone about it. In fact in season, please check out WBEE's "Let's Garage Sale" page. We list garage sales going on all over a 7 county region, let us know if you are planning one and we'll tell everybody!! I think the thing I enjoy the most Is my reading "program". I love to weasel my way into schools all over the area and read to the kids. Simple as that, every grade level, you provide the book or I will and lets get comfy and read!!
Yes, 37 years is a long time and it feels like it was just a minute. I have worked with the best, Bill Coffey, Coyote Collins, Big Daddy, Dave Beck and Uncle Fred, all now residing in Heaven. So many more to mention still very much with us here on Planet Earth. I still "watch" Billy Kidd, never got a damn nickel for THAT job (kids been hanging around since he was my intern 34 years ago) the way I see it, his Pops owes me BIGGGGG TIME.
