Baltimore Orioles icon Cal Ripken Jr. has perhaps the most unbreakable streak in MLB history, having played 2,632 consecutive games. Now, one of the beat writers that covers the team is building an unfathomable streak of his own.
Roch Kubatko, who writes about the Orioles for MASN, has written at least one article about the Orioles for 4,643 days, not taking a single weekend or holiday off:
Kubatko's personal blog on MASN is called "School of Roch," and he's a graduate of the University of Maryland. In response to the video above, he jokingly quipped "I'd like to say I'm humbled, but who are we kidding?".
Kubatko's streak began on Aug. 1, 2008, meaning it will turn 13 this summer. On that day, manager Dave Trembley's lineup included Brian Roberts, Adam Jones, Nick Markakis, Melvin Mora and Aubrey Huff. Garrett Olson pitched 8 1/3 for the Orioles, scattering 11 hits and three runs in a 10-5 win over the Seattle Mariners.
