King took to social media to address fans for the first time since the incident where she took the stage over-served at Nashville’s Grand Ole Opry during a tribute show for Dolly Parton’s 78th birthday. Video clips of King at the Opry that night quickly went viral after she was captured slurring her speech, cursing, harshly clapping back at fans and even forgetting the words to the Dolly song she was performing, “Marry Me.”

“Oh no was my human showing,” Elle captioned a post of her running arena stairs ahead of a performance.

Her acknowledgement of the incident comes one month after Dolly Parton revealed Elle spoke with her and apologized. In the same statement, Parton stepped up to offer forgiveness and encouraged others to do the same.

"Elle is really a great artist. She's a great girl," Parton told Extra TV when asked for her perspective on the situation. "She's been going through a lot of hard things lately and she just had a little too much to drink. So let's just forgive that and forget it and move on, 'cause she felt worse than anybody ever could."

According to Elle, speaking to Parton was all some fans needed to hear in order to move on, but others still consider her actions unforgivable.

“To everyone sending me love because I’m human and already talked to Dolly… I love you,” Elle wrote across her Instagram video. “To everyone who told me to k*ill myself… I love you too.”

After taking nearly two months out of the spotlight, Elle has returned to the stage. First performing a show in San Diego as part of Chris Stapleton’s All American Roadshow Tour and again this past weekend for C2C [Country to Country] Festival in London.

Next, Elle willl take the stage March 20 for Audacy’s Leading Ladies — a powerful event centered around uplifting women’s voices, triumphs, and stories with performances by Kelsea BalleriniMeghan TrainorElle KingChristina Perri, and Rachel Platten. Tickets are on sale now. Find them here.
