Jordan Davis has taken his music to the deep blue sea… literally.

LISTEN NOW: Jordan Davis shares the story of a shark being named after his debut single

Joining Audacy’s Rob + Holly for the Friday Night Takeover this week, the “Buy Dirt” singer shared there is a shark named after his debut single, “Singles You Up,” — the song that brought him his first #1.

“You know we have a shark out there called, ‘Singles You Up,’ right?” Jordan asked Rob + Holly while discussing his experience tagging sharks with scientist and good friend, Chris Fischer’s OCEARCH organization, which is dedicated to saving sharks everywhere.

“He was cruisin’ the East Coast for a good two, three years, Davis said as he was able to watch the animal’s activity via tag technology. “He hung out a lot in Norfolk, like Virginia Beach area. Little, probably 3-and-a-half-foot juvenile white shark.”

As much as Jordan loves helping marine life — sharks in particular — he’ll be swapping the deep sea boat for his tour bus this summer as he hits the road with Dierks Bentley’s Gravel & Gold Tour

“That guy crushes it live,” Jordan said, expressing his gratitude to be on tour with Bentley. “Dierks is like, the one guy, you can truly see his personality — he does a really good job of showing his personality while performing his songs."

“I feel like me and Dierks’ music is very, kinda of the same vein. Picking a setlist was super easy because I feel like we just fit together real good.” Jordan gave a glimpse into that setlist sharing it includes a special surprise.

“We have a Coldplay song that we work into one of our songs,” he said. “It wrecks me because I’ll see high school kids down there when we break into Coldplay and they’re like, “What is this?’ I’m like, ‘Dude! This song is massive.’”
