Lainey Wilson approves of Christmas decorations in early November, do you?

‘You can go ahead and judge me’

The great debate… when is it appropriate to hang the Christmas decor and press play on Christmas music? If you ask Lainey Wilson — it’s right now!

“You can go ahead and judge me, but I’m not home long enough to really enjoy my Christmas decorations anyways,” Lainey told Audacy’s Coop. “So I’m like, ‘You know what? The two days that I am going to be home, why not? They goin’ up!’”

Touché, Lainey. We’ll let it slide.

Lainey continues to suck us into her Christmas vortex unapologetically with her recent release — her own playful version of George Strait’s holiday classic, “Christmas Cookies.”

“I’m a huge fan of George [Strait’s] version of ‘Christmas Cookies,’" Lainey shared. “Some people, they act like they like to hear me talk just as much as they like to hear me sing, so I figured this is the song to do that! To show both.”

She isn’t wrong! That Louisiana draw sure draws us in and we love every minute of the classic remake.

She continued, “We really just had so much fun with it and really just kind of dove in with the whole classic sound and that was it.”

George Strait isn’t the only artist Lainey has flattered with imitation, she recently played a prank on fellow singer-songwriter and tourmate HARDY by dressing like him for a day and let’s just say, she got really into it.

“Honestly, I told HARDY, I said, ‘I think I do HARDY better than HARDY does HARDY,’” she laughed. “Truthfully, I had so much fun, I literally got into character. I mean, I was going around flipping the bird, I was doin’ what HARDY would do!”

It’s not all play for Lainey Wilson. The 29-year-old moved to Nashville 10 years ago and has been on the grind to make it as an artist ever since. Now, with her first #1 under her belt the “Things A Man Oughta Know” singer is more motivated than ever to keep chugging’ along.

“It has been a whirlwind… that does remind me just how far that I’ve come and I know that I’ve got a lot further to go, too."
