Maren Morris is days away from the release of her third album, Humble Quest, and while it may seem like times would be stressful ahead of such a major release, Maren says the pressure is off.

“I feel like it’s the least nervous I’ve ever been going into an album release week,” she told Audacy’s Katie Neal. “There was no pressure to make this album, maybe some of that was like, the pandemic and maybe some of it was it’s album three… but I’m proud of these songs, so I’m ready for someone aside from myself and my team to hear them.”
The project follows Maren’s massively successful debut album, Hero, and sophomore project, Girl. Now, the 31-year-old is ready to share, Humble Quest, a product of her efforts to keep her creative juices flowing and heart healing through the pandemic.
“Music was such a healer for me during this time” she shared. “I wouldn’t say this album of mine is a pandemic record, but it definitely was made during one and because of one.”
The "My Church" songstress has quite a track record of success with her music and there’s no doubt her new project will bring some more timeless tunes to the world of Country music, ultimately helping her leave a legacy— something she says is her ultimate goal along with husband, Ryan Hurd.
"Our songs actually become our legacy after we’re gone. You kind hope you write a song that’s good enough to stand the test of time and we both want to do that," she shared. "In some ways the music industry chews you up and spits you out and even though we’ve made it in some ways, you just never know when your moment to shine is over.”
She continued, “It’s not the make or break of our relationship to be on top, but maybe some day when we’re gone and our children’s children are gone, songs that we wrote back in 2019 or whatever, they live around, beyond us.”
Proud of the legacy she’s created so far, Maren detailed she finds the idea that songs written and performed by her and Hurd living for eternity is an incredibly romantic idea for her.
“I would never compare myself to Johnny [Cash] and June [Carter Cash], or anything like that, but I just think about their legacy and how their love lived on through their duets and their songs together and I feel like Ryan and I are kind of creating our own version of that with our music and our son.”
If there’s one thing for sure, it’s that Maren is creating one heck of a legacy in Country music and we have no doubt Humble Quest will be a major part of it. Prepare for greatness as the new project releases Friday, March 25.
