There are few parts of the live baseball experience more exciting than seeing a home run soar right in your direction at a game. And there's nothing more painful than seeing that ball either land a few seats over for another lucky fan to snag, or having the ball slip right through your fingertips — or glove — and become irretrievable.
Unfortunately, the latter was the case for a fan at the Nationals game, who missed his chance at what seemed to be an easily-catchable home run ball off the bat of Cardinals batter Tommy Edman. Whereas Edman lofted the home run to center field without a flashy bat flip, the poor Nats fan supplied us with quite the glove flip in a frustrated manner.
As you'll see in the above video, though, redemption wasn't far away. It's not like he necessarily wanted redemption in that fashion, considering it came off the bat of another Cardinal in Justin Williams. Still, it's better to leave with a souvenir in a loss than it is to head home empty-handed.
Also, how about that Waffle House mask? I don't know if there's a fashion accessory out there that better flaunts someone's fine dining habits than said mask.
Not all fans were able to clean up their mistakes as nicely as this fan on Monday night, though.
