I couldn't even begin to guess how many times my brother and I have played a game of one-on-one or 21, whether on our childhood driveway, at the local health club, or in any parks near where we live now. 100? 200? 500? It's somewhere up there in the triple digits.
So I can't imagine how many times Steph and Seth Curry have gone head-to-head, and/or what their record is in that one-on-one scenario. It's not hard to know who the better brother is in the NBA, but there's something about going up against the bro that levels the playing field. I'm actually texting with my brother about it right now as we speak, and he made the point that they know all each other's moves, tendencies, weaknesses and more that really help with that matchup.
And from the early looks of it, this is going to be a really fun duel to watch all the way through. Heck, they even brought out their special sneakers for the occasion.
The story behind these kicks is that the Curry bros needed these candies in order to calm them down after they would get in a little backyard battle... so depending on how tonight's game goes, there may be more candy needed.
We saw some great Curry-on-Curry action right out of the gate, with 20 points from Steph and 15 from Seth at the halfway mark. Seth, who is 30 years old, got the better of big bro Steph, 33, early on. What makes it even more interesting as that Steph recently said that his most frustrating defense assignment is — who else — Seth.
But who got the last laugh at the end of the quarter? The older, future Hall of Fame member of the storied Curry family.
