After gracing the charts with its presence for 52 weeks, Tenille Arts’ “Somebody Like That,” finally hit the #1 spot this week. While the accomplishment calls for a huge celebration as her very first #1, there’s even more to celebrate than most may recognize.

The song’s status marks the first time in Country music history that a #1 song has been performed, produced and written by females. YAS QUEENS!

The single was written by Arts alongside Allison Veltz Cruz and Alex Kline, who also served as the producer. The song, which originally released in September 2019, is no stranger to breaking boundaries as it celebrated its first mark on history in January 2021 when it reached the top 15 on the Mediabase/Country Aircheck chart.

Upon reaching the top 15, the track was recognized as the first to reach that high of a standing on the Country charts featuring a solo female performer on a song produced by a solo female producer.

“Words cannot describe how I am feeling right now,” Tenille wrote in a letter addressed to Country radio. “Thank you from the bottom of my heart. You’ve changed my life, forever.”

The singer-songwriter has had a lot to celebrate this year with her first #1 as well as a nomination for New Female Artist of the Year at the 56th Annual ACM Awards. While the award was ultimately awarded to Gabby Barrett, Arts has no reason to not celebrate.

She was seen, all smiles as she walked the red carpet in a Dolce & Gabbana gown alongside her boyfriend, Tyler Corrado.
