Thomas Rhett is not doing himself and his disgust for feet any favors by having his own sandals line with famous outdoor sandals company, Chacos.
LISTEN NOW: Thomas Rhett talks to KFRG’s David and Kelli about his partnership with Chacos ahead of his performance at Stagecoach
Rhett recently celebrated the release of his new line of Chacos sandals, but aside from strapping the luxurious shoes on his feet he isn’t willing to do much else. “I hate feet… Not a fan,” Rhett told KFRG’s David and Kelli, before clarifying that he does love wearing sandals. “I mean, I like wearing sandals,” he said. But turns out he keeps feet so far out of his mind he doesn’t even know what a pedicure is.
“Pedicure? Is that feet?” He pondered. “What’s the hands? Never had one.”
Thomas went on to explain cutting his toenails every now and then is about as much attention as he can stand to give his feet. “I cut my toenails like once every couple weeks, it is tough. It takes some effort.”
His Chaco partnership isn’t the only one he’s been working on lately. He also has his own Dos Primos Tequila brand, and before you ask… yes, he does love tequila!
“Tequila, soda and lime,” Rhett said of his favorite drink to indulge in while on tour. “In Texas they call that a ranch water. If I’m chillin’ at the house and I have time, I like to make a tequila old fashioned. So if you’re a bourbon drinker — you make an old fashioned, but with tequila, and it’s ridiculous!”
Rhett is sure to take advantage of any down time he can as a touring musician and father of 4, but balancing the different facets of his life is something that remains a top priority so he can give his best all around. “I learned how to say no to a lot of things, honestly,” Rhett said of finding balance between fatherhood and his demanding career. “I think that’s kind of been the balance over the last couple of years for sure.”
He continued, “When I’m in kid mode, [I’m in] kid mode only. When I’m in work, music, writing mode it’s like that gets 100% of my attention because if I’m doing both, both get half-assed — you know what I’m sayin?”
Thomas was in full music mode Friday night as he headlined Stagecoach, California’s Country music festival. Rhett surprised the crowd by bringing out special guests HARDY and Ashton Kutcher to help him sing a cover of Garth Brooks’ “Friends In Low Places.”
