Things got a little tangled up in Thomas Rhett’s household this week while he was away which prompted his wife, Lauren Akins, to turn to social media for help.

Akins, who shares four daughters under the age of seven with Rhett turned to her fellow moms on Instagram for help after her two oldest daughters, Willa Gray (7) and Ada James (4) “styled” her hair into a massive knot with a comb at the center.
“Morning! I was just going to get in Instagram for the first time in a while to see if any moms had any suggestions to help another mom out,” Lauren said in distress while a big black comb dangled from her head.
“While I was feeding the baby… I let the older two brush my hair and they attempted to curl it… I’m stuck and I really don’t want to cut my hair, so if any moms have any suggestions, let me hear ‘em!”
Fellow moms flooded the comments section to help her out, many suggesting she douse her hair in conditioner and cut the teeth of the comb individually.
While many comments were full of concern and empathy, a few individuals took the opportunity to poke fun at Lauren, including Thomas Rhett.
“I leave for 2 hours…” Thomas commented on the post.
Lucky for Lauren, Thomas’ mom took the situation very seriously and arrived at their house with some back-up to perform delicate “surgery” which involved kitchen knives, a box cutter and cutting board.
Lauren shared multiple videos of the detailed process to help other moms who may find themselves in the same predicament in the future.
“Update from my mom diary this morning: FREEDOM!!!” she wrote. “Shout out the the greatest mother in law and friends a girl could have… I only lost a little bit of hair :)”
She continued, “Insta peeps-thanks for ALL of y'all's ideas and encouragement, here's the play by play just in case any of y'all find yourselves in the same predicament.”
