It seems Disturbed guitarist Dan Donegan’s new Coca-Cola-themed guitar displaying the words "F*** Cancel Culture" has given frontman David Draiman a big reason to smile.

Draiman shared a photo of Donegan’s new paint job on his personal Twitter page saying in the caption that he “couldn’t be more proud” of the choice of artwork, “because I believe in freedom of speech and expression, even from those I disagree with.”

David’s new post, naturally, has brought out the commenters. "Rage on Behalf of the Machine," said one user. Another user explained, "that's not what cancel culture is. Cancel culture is literally just public accountability. That's happened since the dawn of society."

While there seems to be no specific reason for the in-your-face social commentary, Disturbed as a band has had its fair share of controversies. In 2019, for example, the group came under fire from fans and artists alike, namely former Pink Floyd member Roger Waters, for ignoring a BDS (Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions) campaign against the country of Israel. “The very notion that Waters and the rest of his Nazi comrades decide that this is the way to go ahead and foster change is absolute lunacy and idiocy,” Draiman, who is of Jewish descent, responded at the time.

In an interview with The Jerusalem Post Podcast, Draiman explained that he’s gotten past caring about what people think of his views: “I’ve reached a point in my career where I really don’t give a s*** anymore." He added, "If somebody wants to go ahead and cast their stones at me, they know that I’m very, very careful about separating what I do as a musician from who I am as an individual, and if they can’t come to terms with it, then that’s their problem. I honestly don’t see people not coming to our shows because I’m continuing to talk about something that they’ve already known for two decades."
