Warmer Weather Is In Sight, But More Brutal Cold First

NEW YORK (WCBS 880) – Old Man Winter isn’t giving us a break just yet.

After an absolutely Arctic Monday, when RealFeals reached 20 below, temperatures are forecast to rebound this week.

But WCBS 880's Craig Allen says Tuesday morning remains dangerously cold, with temperatures in the teens and RealFeels 5 to 15 below.

Before dawn, it was only 8 degrees in Midtown and closer to zero in some inland suburbs.

Temps will rise to 29 degrees in Midtown by afternoon and winds will let up significantly, providing some relief.

It’s much milder on Wednesday, when highs will increase to the low-to-mid 40s as rain moves in.

AccuWeather says the rain sticks around into Thursday as temperatures continue their climb to nearly 50 degrees.

A more seasonable cold returns Friday, with highs in the mid 30s before the sun returns this weekend. The high Saturday is 28 degrees.
