Woman Violently Attacks Staples Customer After Being Asked To Wear A Mask

HACKENSACK, N.J. (WCBS 880) — Police in New Jersey are looking for the person who violently assaulted a woman inside a Staples on Wednesday.

Hackensack Police say the incident happened around 3:30 p.m. at the Staples located on Hackensack Avenue.

Video footage from inside the store shows the victim using a fax/copy machine near another woman, the attacker, who is also using a machine off-camera. The attacker is seen wearing a mask under her mouth.

According to an ABC7 report, the victim saw this and asked the woman to put the mask over her nose and mouth.

The attacker became enraged after being asked to wear the mask and started yelling at the woman, who is seen using a cane.

Immediately following the violent attack, the suspect returns to the fax/copy machine she was using off-camera and then calmly leaves the store.

The victim, who reportedly had a recent liver transplant surgery, was transported to Hackensack University Medical Center to be treated for a broken leg.

No arrests have been made and the investigation remains ongoing.
