HUNTINGTON STATION, N.Y. (WCBS 880) — A 32-year-old man was gunned down after answering a knock at his front door late Saturday, Suffolk County police said.

Roquez Villalba-Jimenez was at his East 12th Street home in Huntington Station when he was shot around 11:35 p.m.

He was transported to Huntington Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

A neighbor who has three children, the youngest of whom is 12 years old, said she is worried about her family.

"You never know what's going on and if you have kids, then the school is starting and you don't know, you don't have any idea who it is and every time that you open the door, you're looking around and that's scary, you don't feel safe," she said.

This marks the second such killing in Huntington Station this month. A 23-year-old man was fatally shot after answering a knock at his front door on Fifth Avenue on Aug. 2.

"It's a surprise when I wake up, like around 4 o'clock, and I see all this block that's filled with cars, police," the neighbor said.

Police have not said if the two crimes are connected. No arrests have been made.
