Boy, 16, shot in buttocks near Bronx playground: police

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — A 16-year-old boy was shot and wounded near a Bronx playground Thursday, police said.

The shooting happened near East 140th Street and Alexander Avenue in Mott Haven.

Police said the teen was shot in the buttocks by two male suspects.

He was taken to NYC Health + Hospitals/Harlem, where he's expected to survive.

Police have recovered the gun, but it's unclear if the suspects fled the scene.

An investigation is ongoing.
