Reckless endangerment: Driver charged after crashing car into Queens urgent care and leaving 4 hospitalized

NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) – A driver was charged with four counts of reckless endangerment after smashing a car into the side of a Queens urgent care and sending four people to the hospital on Saturday morning, officials said.

At 11:03 a.m. Saturday morning Mohammed Faruque, 38, lost control of a BMW sedan, popped a curb and crashed into a CityMD Urgent Care near 48th Street and Greenpoint Avenue in Long Island City, according to the NYPD.

Fourteen people were injured in total in the crash, with 10 receiving medical treatment at the scene, authorities said.

The other four victims were transported by emergency personnel to NYC Health + Hospitals/Elmhurst. The hospitalized victims are in stable condition, police said.

Department of Buildings officials confirmed that there was no significant damage to the structure of the building.
