
NEW YORK (WCBS 880) – Three thieves in a car violently robbed three women over the span of 15 minutes in Manhattan on Tuesday night, police said Sunday.
The robberies took place between 8:20 p.m. and 8:35 p.m. on the Upper West Side and Upper East Side. Police said the robbers got out of a gray Toyota Camry, pushed the victims to the ground and stole their purses.
A 50-year-old woman was targeted at 50 West End Ave. on the Upper West Side at 8:20 p.m. Police said the group stole her purse, which contained credit cards.
Ten minutes later on the Upper East Side, a 38-year-old woman was attacked near Third Avenue and E. 65th Street. Police said her bag, which contained a cell phone, was stolen.
Five minutes later, a 25-year-old woman was robbed as she walked her dog near 421 E. 65 St. on the Upper East Side. Police said the group stole the woman’s purse, which contained sunglasses and electronics.
All three women refused medical attention, police said.
The NYPD is searching for the Camry, which they said had the New Jersey plate number P73JPY. The department released surveillance images of the suspects on Sunday.
