Homeless woman accused of fatally stabbing acquaintance on Long Island

BRENTWOOD, N.Y. (WCBS 880) — A homeless woman is accused of stabbing an acquaintance to death on Long Island.

Police said the incident happened around 2 a.m. Thursday in Brentwood.

Suffolk County Police responded to an apartment on Second Avenue after receiving a 911 call about a man being stabbed.

The victim, identified as 56-year-old Antonio Rice, was rushed to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Police said the suspect, 50-year-old Charlene Blackshear, was arrested a short distance away. She is charged with first-degree manslaughter.

Blackshear will be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on Friday.
