Man hit in head by attacker with baseball bat on Harlem street

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — A 47-year-old man was assaulted by a man with a baseball bat while walking on a Manhattan street Tuesday, police said.

The victim was walking in front of 1770 Amsterdam Avenue near 148th Street in Harlem when he was approached from behind by the suspect, authorities said.

Security footage shows the attacker pulling an orange baseball bat from his pants and then hitting the victim in the head with it.

The man fell to the ground and suffered bruising as well as a laceration to his head. Emergency workers transported him to NYC Health + Hospitals/Harlem in stable condition.
