Police: Livery driver robbed at gunpoint after stopping to help man with apparent car troubles in the Bronx

NEW YORK (WCBS 880) — Police are looking for a man who they say robbed a livery cab driver at gunpoint last week in the Bronx.

Police said the 28-year-old victim had stopped near Hudson Parkway and Mosholu Parkway last Tuesday afternoon to help the suspect, who appeared to be having mechanical trouble with his car on the side of the road.

When the suspect got into the livery car, police said he pulled out a gun and demanded money from the driver.

Police said the victim drove to a bank, where he withdrew approximately $1,400 from his account.

He handed the money over to the suspect, who fled the scene after getting into a gray SUV that was being driven by a second suspect.

No one was hurt during the incindent.
