NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — A Queens man charged for fatally stabbing his mother in the back and choking his father was arraigned, Queens District Attorney Melinda Katz announced Thursday.
Dennis Cho, 20, allegedly ambushed his mother, 59-year-old Hyun Sook Cho, at their 191st Street home near Station Road in Auburndale the afternoon of Feb. 24. Prosecutors also accused him of choking his father, 61-year-old Seong Woo Cho that same day.
“The defendant is charged with the gruesome, cold-blooded stabbing death of his mother, a crime as horrific as can be committed,” Katz said. “This was a brutal attack that no family should have to endure.”
The younger Cho was charged with murder, assault and related charges in a seven-count arraignment. He faces 25 years-to-life in prison if convicted.
His next court date is scheduled for May 3.
