SALEM CITY, N.J. (1010 WINS) — A 30-year-old man was convicted for an October 2020 shooting that killed two men and injured a woman in Salem City.
Police said Desmond Lane, 30, fired on Derek Atkins, 28, and John Robinson, 33, during a domestic dispute at a Salem City home.
After the two men were hit, Lane fired multiple rounds into their bodies, ensuring their deaths.
He also struck a 32-year-old woman in the leg. She survived the attack.
Lane initially fled after the shooting, but he surrendered to police two days later, officials said.
Residents had previously asked that Lane be removed from the property after police had been called there multiple times, according to court documents.
A jury convicted Lane of murder, aggravated assault and weapon possession.
