University of Minnesota Athletic Director Mark Coyle hinted that he won't make a decision about men's basketball coach Richard Pitino until the conclusion of the current season.
After a strong start to the season that propelled the Gopher men into the top 25, the Gophers are now in the midst of a five game losing streak and likely out of NCAA Tournament contention.
On with WCCO's Dave Lee this morning, Coyle was asked if he's made a decision on Pitino's future.
"I don't talk about our coaches until the seasons are over. I think you have to look at the entire body of work."
Pitino is under contract through 2024, and if he were fired before April 30th, he would be owed $1.75 million dollars in a buyout.
The Gopher men have two regular season games left, and then the Big 10 Tournament.
