New concessions options are coming to Target Center with more local vendors for the upcoming Timberwolves season.
James Beard Award-winning chef Ann Kim will join the Target Center team with her new Pizzeria Lola Knots.
"We've got two savory ones, a classic garlic and parmesan knot with our house marinara," says Kim. "Then we also have a fun dill pickle knot in a dill pickle seasoning. And that has dill pickle, cream cheese whip. And then we have a sweet knot, which is like a cinnamon sugar knot with a brown butter cream cheese frosting."
Kim has collaborated with Target Center in the past for more fine dining options and with pop concessions but this year is among 12 other mainstay vendors debuting at the venue this season.
"This is our best year yet, in my opinion," says Executive Chef for the Timberwolves David Fhima.
He says this year the best food options won't be limited to just the suites, and that the everyday fan will get have access to the very best game day choices.
"There's vegetarian, there's vegan options, there is pescatarian options you have," explains Fhima. "We really are very conscious of that, and there's a big piece. I mean, we are very much about quality, so really those things really matter."
Fhima says this year his main goal was to give outstanding local chefs a chance to showcase their food at Target center over bigger box vendors.
The first regular season home game is set for Saturday night at 7:00 when the Wolves host Toronto. They're off to a 1-1 start with a loss against the Lakers and a win in Sacramento Thursday night.

It's more than food drawing fans to Target Center. The Timberwolves are becoming one of the hottest tickets in town.
Fresh off last season's postseason run to the conference finals, the Wolves announced that they have sold more than 11,000 season tickets. That's the first time that milestone has been reached since 1990, the Wolves' first season when they played home games played at the Metrodome.
