Jon Stewart slams excuses for ‘Biden’s cognitive difficulty’ as ‘bulls‑‑‑’

Comedian and part-time host of “The Daily Show” Jon Stewart is calling out President Joe Biden and his team for pushing excuses for his poor debate performance last month, saying that it’s “bulls‑‑‑” to spin what’s happening.

During Monday’s episode of the show, Stewart criticized Biden and those supporting him for trying to spin what’s been happening with the president as many cast doubts about his age and ability to serve another term.

Stewart went on to play clips of Biden’s verbal gaffes and slip-ups in recent months, saying there were “some troubling moments of disconnect” before Biden ever took the debate stage.

“Then, of course, to be fair, State of the Union — concern dropped a little bit at the State of the Union. He kind of nailed it. But then the debate happened, and we kind of, what the f‑‑‑?” he said.

He went on to say that it was clear the debate showed many, including himself, what he called a “shocking display of cognitive difficulty.”

Stewart said that “unfortunately, anybody who’s dealt with aging parents, and it’s a hard watch,” sees similarities with what the president is going through.

The comedian then took time to show clips of Democrats calling out former President Trump for the false claims he made during the debate.

“I will tell you the difference. The difference is Trump delivered at the debate to expectation. We expect him to be f‑‑‑ing crazy. But Biden’s performance and inability to articulate at times was stunning. Like, I could not believe what I was watching,” he said.

While the president and Democrats have been in scramble mode since the debate, Stewart says their efforts have only made the situation worse, as he called out White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre, who said Biden had a cold that night and was jet-lagged from his recent foreign travel.

“He’d been home for almost two weeks. He was jet-lagged? How big is that f‑‑‑ing jet? The point is, for a campaign based on honesty and decency, the spin about the debate appears to be blatant bulls‑‑‑. And the redemption tour hasn’t gotten that much better,” Stewart said.

Stewart went on to criticize Biden’s ABC News interview he did last week, saying Biden missed the mark with some of his comments.

However, the comedian says he isn’t calling on Biden to drop out of the race but instead asked Democrats to “open up” a larger conversation about who they put forth as their candidate.

Biden continues to maintain that he will not step down.
