Minnesota and much of the country is seeing a record number of absentee and mail-in ballots in 2020.

With the COVID pandemic raging on, numbers on the rise across the Midwest, many communities are asking people to vote absentee, vote early, and vote by mail instead of clogging polling locations on Election Day.

If you've already mailed in your ballot but are curious as to whether it will be accepted or not, the Secretary of State's office has a website where you can quickly enter personal information to check the status of your ballot.

After you enter your information and you submitted your ballot correctly, you'll get a note that says:

You have applied for a ballot for the August 11, 2020 State Primary and the November 3, 2020 State General Election.

November 3, 2020, State General Election:
Your ballot was accepted on (DATE) and will be counted.

If there is a problem with your ballot, you'll see it here and still have time to cast a vote properly by contacting your county election officials.

Reminder, you have until November 3rd, Election Day, to submit your ballot by mail. It must be postmarked with that day to be counted up to 7 days after November 3rd.

You can check your status by clicking here.
